The Benefits of a Shower Over a Bath when Over 50 Years Old

A question always asked which is better a bath or a shower. The reply is always both. Both of them have their type of advantages and disadvantages. The main thing about the idea of taking a bath or a shower is that getting to clean yourself, to clean your cells and freshen up.

No doubt, showering makes the whole thing much faster. Living in a more prominent city, having less space, also you have lesser time every day, you will prefer to take a shower.   • Dry Skin: As the skin gets dry, lying down in a bathtub for an hour or two will make them drier. That is not going to help someone over 50 years of age because the regeneration process of the body also lowers down and it will take a much more extended period for your skin to come back to its original form or even never come back.
  • Glands: The workability of the glands reduce and so sitting in a bathtub for long hours and coming out of it, your glands wouldn’t respond as it used to do before and you might be in trouble of adjusting to the change of temperature.
  • Falling Risk: Your body isn’t so good balancing it anymore like before it used to be. Most of the accidents over for over 50 years old happened in the bathroom and mostly in the bathtubs. Also, if anything happens in the bathroom, people don’t hear the sound from outside. So, you should be very careful of not falling.
  • Heart problems or stroke problems: Anytime if a heart attack or a stroke happen in the bathtub, it will be tough for anyone to know to rush you to the hospital or take immediate medical care. Time is a very precious factor at such time.

Therefore, if you take a shower, you have much higher changes to cope with those things.
