It’s the pressure from your engine that spins the centrifuge removing particles as small as 1 micron or less.
Todays engines have a standard oil filter that doesn’t catch soot very much, these full-flow oil filters generally filter up to 25 microns, but particles as small as 4 microns can cause up to 77% of your engines wear. A Dieselcraft centrifuge will clean your engine oil by generating a centrifugal force which is 2000 times greater than gravity.
Spinning at 6,000 rpm’s engine oil pressure spins the rotor which separates the solid contaminants from the main oil supply while slinging the solids to the inside walls of the rotor, which, can be easily cleaned. Contaminant particles that are less than 1 micron are removed which eliminates the wear and tear on metal parts by up to 50%.
A centrifuge removes dirt and wear particles from the oil flow completely and stays constant, while filters only take wear particles from the solids and stop them from circulating further. But, if you reduce the oil flow, clog it up, it will eventually meet the point of not working. When it comes to engines and oil changes, when using conventional oil thiscan be extended up to three times.
If you are using synthetic oils those changes can be extended to as much as 750 hours of working time, which reduces replacement and disposal costs.
Centrifuges are available for vacuum pumps, gear boxes, engine oil and waste oil non-engine lubrication applications. Centrifuges available from Dieselcraft will at least double the time between oil changes simply because their debris-holding capacity is over 5 times the limit of any filters on the market today. This is because these centrifuges remove contaminants from the oil flow altogether, it stops them from circulating, which stops them from clogging the system and reducing oil flow, which in turns leads to the engine no longer working. When you use a centrifuge the cleaning efficiency stays the same, while using a traditional filter as the filter clogs up, the filters efficiency decreases.
